In this dream,
We ride up on stallions
Arriving at an old house.
The years have beaten it,
Though a glimmer of its
Once-splendid glory
Still twinkles thru the sunlight.
This dream finds us dismounting
Breathless and alive
Laughing unabashedly
Involved in a moment
That will last a lifetime.
We run toward a front porch,
Half fallen—rotten,
Landing abruptly together.
Your brown eyes belie me
Opening my soul
To their charm.
How can I exist without you?
Love that spoils the others forever
You sweep me to you
Hot breath against my skin
And drink me—
In one full sweeping gulp.
I am lost.
Time explodes
And scatters us
Into the distance
Like cosmic specks
Or meteor dust.
